The European Court of Human Rights

Started by: Tommy Two Stroke (15426)

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom will rule on whether sending asylum seekers to Rwanda is legal or not, but even if they rule that it IS legal, the ECHR]. The European Court of Human Rights, which is based in Strasbourg, along with the HQ's of the EU, can still overrule the British Courts.

Suella Braverman's resignation letter mentions the ECHR and the problems with Britain still being within its jurisdiction.

I think that Britain should leave the ECHR.

I thought that John Reed did an excellent job of explaining why the court had come to the decision: it was very easy to follow, which is more than can usually be said for court rulings.

But, if it is ruled not lawful because Rwanda cannot be trusted to fulfil the obligations which this would have placed upon it - how on earth will that be changed by the PM fiddling with the agreements?

It is like Suella said in her letter, he has no intention of doing anything about the boats, Soonak will just fart about with the courts until the general election, and then he will resign and bugger off to America, Sunak as done nothing, he is all teeth and talk, and we know that Starmer will also do sod all about the boats, if the immigrants get into this country, they cannot be removed.

We are a laughing stock.

I like her suggestion that she would pass a law enabling the government to ignore the law.

The 'Führerprinzip' in action. How fascist is that!

I don't think that she has 'exposed it' because it was there for all to see, she has what is known as "brought it to the fore" and in today's press conference, Sunak gave a big hint at leaving the ECHR, but he didn't say it did he, and that is because he has no intention of doing it.

What laws have the other lot introduced apart from intoducing a paltry minium wage and inceasing bnefits to a level that that many have found it better not to work for a living.

Thankfully, something is now going to be done to end the gravy train of the workshy, some who I suspect come on here all hours of the day bleating about the govenment!

How else would they find the time to do their bleating?

p.s. Not to mention the hundreds of clerical jobs created in the NHS when employees were more needed on the shop floor!

The point I was making was that Labour are no different than the Tories when in power.

As usual, the same three have to respond by having a swipe at me and not making any reply to my comments that the minmum wage has made a lot of peope who work poorer and has resulted in a constant turn over of Labour in the mondane manual jobs which has led to more people finding it better to live on benefits etc, rather than work for a living!

And Tories have been no better by taking jobs like essential care work out of the Councils where they were on decent pay and putting it into the private sector world of the minimum wage and no extra pay for woking unsocial hours.

Too many today are living on the benefit system with all its perks and both the Tories and Labour Parties have been responsible for creating the increasing burden to the tax payers!

After reading and listening to SUELLA 'S letter ,i then heard some TORY'S commenting oon the next great plan , and that is they
" ARE NOW GOING OR SEEKING LAWS TO SEND ILLEGAL'S /IMMIGRANTS BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL COUNTRY FROM WHENCE THEY CAME""
Bloody hell i only had the basic secondary education but i think i'm bloomin intelligent enough to have thought that, that should have been the VERY FIRST MOVE ANY GOV should have and be doing ??????
YET AFTER WASTING MILLIONS OF POUNDS OF TAX-PAYERS MONEY THEY ARE NOW COMING ROUND TO THINKING THAT THIS IS WHAT THEY NW HAVE TO DO !!!! How do we put these sorts into office ???? The mind boggle's Finally i guess i was ignorant to believe that once we left the E.U. WE WOULD NOT BE RULED /GOVERNED OVER , but apparently that is not the case i read or hear we are still under certain rules & laws . SAD !

I did know all the judges were against it ,My main thrust is that they are now trying to bring in a law immediately as to circumvent their error. Also my point was that they were warned it would fail yet ignored every bit of advice and alas the cost is borne by us ordianary tax -payer yet again that's my reasoning .
